Tunes on Thursday (6)

So every once in a while I do one of these and today is such a day. YAY! Snippets of this song keep going around in my head and I wake up fairly frequently thinking of this song. Especially the chorus.

And this part:

"And you're sugar and spice and everything nice
You got Monroe hips, poison lips and eyes
And you're sugar and spice and everything nice
You got open wounds in a young boy's pride"

EPIC!

Now, go on, listen to the song and tell me what you think :)

Tunes On Thursday (5)

I've been going through all the music I have on my computer and discovered some songs I hadn't listened to in a while but still love, love, LOVE!!

I LOVE Lifehouse! I think this song was on a Grey's Anatomy episode, but I'm not sure. Still: LOVE!

This is a leftover from my punkrock-fase. Let's call it a fase. I was about 14 I think.

Anything good catch your ear recently?

Music That Makes Monday Suck Less (4)

It's time for Music That Makes Monday Suck Less!! Probably the best title this feature has ever had :)

Okay, so seriously, sometime it's embarassing to admit, but I love most of Katy Perry's songs. They're so happy and they get stuck in my head. And now it can be stuck in your heads too! Hooray! :) The clip is a bit too silly for my taste though...

And this next song is just beautiful. And it's the music to the commercial for the digital camera I want.

So, that's it for me now, what are you guys listening too?

Tunes on Tuesday (3)

One of the things I love best after reading is music. Whatever mood I'm in, I always have a song that'll suit it. And singing along is just so relaxing, though you really don't want to hear that. Seriously.
Music triggers memories and can really make me go back in time to the moment that was so important/fun/sad. I almost always wake up with a song on my mind and I love it.

So, I thought I'd show you guys some songs I've recently been in love with :)

LOVE THIS SONG!! That voice gives me chills. In a good way.

I absolutely love all the singles of the new album so far. Isn't she just amazing?

And last, but not least: a little patriotism (again) with a Dutch band I've recently heard about and I really like this song.

So, what's stuck in your head lately? Any recommendations?

Songs for Saturday (2)

I thought it was time to put the spotlight on some of the songs I love again. I've recently fallen in love with Sara Bareilles' new CD 'Kaleidoscope', it's amazing! I loved her first album 'Little Voices' and saw her perform live, which was so, so beautiful.
The one song that keeps playing in my head over and over again:

Beautiful!

I also discovered she did a really cool cover of Beyonce's Single Ladies, a completely different interpretation.

And I'm going to see this Dutch band on Wednesday, they're fairly new and I think they'll be amazing live!

Any new songs that have caught your attention? Or older ones that still hold a special place in your heart? Please do share! :)

Tunes on Tuesday

This could as easily have been called (and will in the future at random probably be) Tunes on Thursday, Music Monday, What Are You Listening on Wednesday, Song for Saturday etc.

I was going to participate in Top Ten Tuesday, until I realised my kids would probably kill me if I named them after book characters.

I got the urge to tell you about some of the songs I love to listen to at the moment.
But first I want to have an honorable mention to this awesome piece of lyrics:
I'm just a notch in your bedpost, but you're just a line in a song
from Sugar We're Going Down by Fall Out Boy (just heard it on the radio, isn't it awesome?)

I'm going to spotlight 3 songs today:

This song is SOOO amazing! I almost always love her songs and am getting my hands on her new album soon.

I thought I'd show a little patriotism and showcase a Dutch artist, this is actually live at the radioshow I always listen to in the morning. I've been singing along to this in my car at the top of my lungs every time I got stuck in a traffic jam or was just cruising along.

And last but not least this beautiful song that I had forgotten all about until I heard it on the radio last Friday. It perfectly describes the heartache I remember from my teens.

So that's it for this Tunes On Tuesday, which may or may not return in the future.

Tell me, what are you listening to these days?
